Acrylic on canvas, 20cm x 50cm. I had been asked to paint a picture of lilies but my first couple of paintings were so boring. Yesterday morning I had a spare hour and decided to try a very loose painting. The joy of acrylic is that you can paint over old canvases. I took a painting of strawberry plants in a pot. Even that had been painted on something else and retained some marks from the original! I decided to paint on top of the painting already there rather than obliterate it, only taking away what was necessary and only adding what was needed. This created very interesting marks, especially when seen full size. I had to stop which was fortunate as I'm sure fiddling by way of neatening and tidying up would destroy it.
