A painting of a cafe I encountered at the start of a holiday with my wife, in the Auvergne, France in June 2009. I was attracted to it by the different angles portrayed in the image, from the way the glass roof panels were cut and laid to the slope of the hill falling away from the cafe entrance. Note the chock under the flower pot to level it up. Oil on a cradled A4 size wooden panel. Three coats of gesso prior to painting and sides of the panel painted black. For sale at £150..

Retired and wasting my time however I like. Painting, making model aircraft, cricket and downing pints of bitter. It could be worse. My work can be seen on artgallery.co.uk , Saatchiart and on my own site, micksargentfineart.com.
