Very difficult to draw young baby faces without making them look like Churchill. You have succeeded and to have him sideways is an extra challenge.

Lovely comment, Fred, thank you. I laughed out loud at your "Churchill" reference! I know exactly what you mean but I'd never actually thought of it that way! His Mum was pleased, anyway, and I suppose that's the most important thing! I wonder what Churchill looked like as a baby? Hmmmm.......

Love this drawing - it is a perfect rendition of a new baby down to the position of the arm, which is such a typical gesture. I like the way you have defined the face and then left the rest of the drawing a simple outline. Very classy.

Wow! Thanks, Thea! I did the same with his brother in the earlier picture and consciously created it as a companion piece. I didn't really see the point of doing their babygros. Pointless over elaboration, I thought, but I love to think that it gives a classy effect! thanks again!

Thea is absolutely right here Michael, you have captured this baby's face perfectly with his innocence clearly defined here with non of the complications of a life yet to be lived.

This is a companion piece to the "Newborn" I posted a while ago. It's his new brother! Both are commissions done with pleasure for my best customer.
