I really admire your style Michael as I think it is colourful and fresh. I have been looking at the bushes and shadow to the right for a few minutes and must say I think these are painted brilliantly. I also love that you have kept the road to an almost flat colour.

Gorgeous crisp contrasts Michael - have you been focussing on tonal contrast - I feel that your work has grown in that area?

Thanks so much all. Joseph - I really appreciate your kind comments and, yes, I kept the road fairly flat as a contrast to the busy middle ground of the buildings. Caroline - I have not been consciously concentrating on tone and am not sure that it is more pronounced than earlier works - must go back to my earlier portfolios and have a look.

I think you're working for the local tourist board Michael :) You always make these villages look so sunny, fresh and well worth a visit.

You've caught the sunlight,and tranquility, in this one. You could make an extremely attractive calendar of your village paintings - it'd look a lot more impressive than some of these glossy photos I've seen, which convey nothing much beyond how good the camera is at picking up completely uninteresting detail...

Great composition - I like the road that disappears around the corner, behind the trees, as it serves to make sure your eye travels into the painting. Lovely fresh greens.

This works very well Michael, the little shadow from the right hand bush adds to the scene.
