Lovely washes in this Michael, perhaps a little more shape and form to the two characters, but on te whole really well done

Looks pretty good to me Michael, I must take a tour of Leicestershire villages some time. As Ros has said, the only thing I would modify are the figures but what do I know?

I beg to differ: the figures are fine. Just strengthen the shadows under the gutters and you're fine. I take it they can't be shadows on the road, otherwise the figures would be in the shade too - and not casting shadows! Lovely trees.

Thanks all. Kim I do agree that the figures are OK - if I give them more shape it will merely tighten it all up even further. There was a time when I would not have posted something I was not reasonably happy with but this seems to be cheating a bit so posted this warts and all. Will certainly be painting another variation of it and will pop on the site

Nice work Michael. Saddington never looked so good! Especially like the out of focus treeline. I rather like the figures too.

I do like it :) Glad you enjoyed your trip to Norfolk :)

Perhaps a tiny bit stiff as you said but I especially like the figures, they make the painting sing. Well done Michael!

Been in Norfolk for the last week and came back with loads of inspiration only to have to paint a commission of a local village - ah well - think I might redo it as it's not wanted until the end of the month - looks a bit 'stiff' - I'll loosen it up - not quite back into the swing of it yet ! Hope you like it....http://www.michaeledwardsartist.co.uk/index.html
