This really stands out in the gallery. It ALL works so well...... the sky, tree on the right.... and in just half an hour! I'm very envious!

Nice and fresh Michael, works well. As you say sometimes the 'fast and loose' method works better.

Lovely, I like the white breaks in the clouds and the freshness of the landscape.

I too like it very much, envy you how you make it all look so simple!

I do appreciate your comments - thanks all.

I like this very mcuh. Very fresh!

Love this watercolour and the effects you achieve, love the shadows as well.

A lovely a la Wesson. Says so much with so little

Very good quick rendering of your painting Michael, lovely sky, tree everything, and colours of course

Like it? Love it Michael!!

Thanks for taking the trouble to comment -really do enjoy working in this way .

Another beautiful watercolour Michale, love the simplicity of the painting

Gosh - half and hour - that put's me to shame as my pen drawings take ages! Lovely clean and harmonious painting. Everything about it is just right from the amount of 'twig' used to the lovely fresh greens. Very successful painting. (p.s. Thank you very much for that extremely generous comment on my horse racing painting - much appreciated).

Coming back to this Michael did you do the wash first or the pen first? Either way nice result

Thanks Petra, Thea, and Alan.. I did the ink work first but the trouble is that doing it with a stick the blobs can take some to dry before you can apply the wash. To overcome this at the demo, once I had done the wash I then pulled out , in time honoured cookery fashion, one I had done earlier of the same subject. Nevertheless the overall time was still about half an hour. What I like about using a stick is that you have less control and the effect is so much looser and appears more spontaneous.

This version of my last watercolour posting was done as a half hour demo last night in using 'twig and wash'. Done in a rush and probably better for it. Hope you like it.
