a great painitng and a nice design .when I place my houses in a postion as these I like to give the house roofs of the ones in the shade.(one centre one on right) a darker tone than the ones catching the light coming from the right??..the old trick of light against dark, dark against light,,,,but its a lovely painting Michael. take care

Spot on Alan - you are quite right about the roofs - it's something I usually do and don't know how I missed it here - will darken them up

I like this Michael, I often add a abit of penwork to my watercolours. I've been on a painting break for a few days and I'm going to Spain tomorrow, I will post what I painted on the painting trip when I get back to the UK.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Michael. I think it is just a great piece of work. What makes it for me are the shadows in the bottom right hand corner from an unseen tree. They balance beautifully with the tall dark tree on the far left. Super stuff, Michael !!

This is certainly one of my favourites, Michael. You know I am a pen and wash person, so... I like the classical" watercolours" too, but adding a little pen-work or very dark pencil adds a lot of sparkle as you call it (in my opinion, that is!!!).

It works really well - like the pen which you have cleverly used with restraint. Super colours - you always describe the English scene so well.

This is Amazing Michael.... I love water colours!!! but havent done landscpaes by water colour for years. really inspired to make one now. thanks. I have also added some works today. please have a look. thanks, kasana

More than presentable, Michael. I think this is just lovely, with your trademark clear washes and super palette.
