Lovely sunny and typically English painting. It wasn't an American who bought it by any chance as it is just the sort of painting that would appeal to them (because of the Englishness if you see what I mean). We have a church in our village just like this - I must have a go at painting it one day after seeing your charming painting.

Thanks Glennis, satu and Thea. No not an American but a local who was married in the church which is 12th century and full of character but it did cause me problems over chancel tax risks when I moved to the village.

I had almost forgotten about this painting - it's been hanging in our local pub for some time now when out of the blue I got a phone call earlier in the week from someone who wanted to purchase it - it did need a bit of cleaning as the pesky mites had got in but it is now in their possession - pity the only image I have of it is not so good but I didn't think to take another photo when I had the frame in pieces.
