I painted this gate house because I was evacuated there during the 2nd world war. I went back last year and it brought back an awful lot of memories. These people let me in to take photo's, it was a very enjoyable day and I really did like painting this. I am hoping I have captured what I felt that day. This is the best of painting you can go back and recall everything.
