Another super doggie, love your work

I just had a friend here who has a Rottie and she went absolutely demented when she saw this. Despite the fact that I do animal portraits, she's now decided to save up for one of yours! Hmmmm! I have to say though that I find his tag a little intrusive. It's so bright it pulls my eye down away from his gorgeous face

Don't think I agree with Diana, which is unusual! While the tag is bright, the dog's character and the strength of her (?) face overcome it and relegate it to its proper place, I think. I just have a feeling this is a bitch - partly the build: although I'm no expert on Rottweilers, I saw a massive male a while ago who would have made two of this one. Another brilliant and beautiful portrait.

Incidentally, how on earth did you get that filigree effect in the chain with pastel? Pastel pencils? Very sharp? (I'm trying to learn how to use pastel, and don't know how you got that effect!)

Thanks for your kind comments Robert, I did use sharp pencil pastel pencils for the chain and a lot of patience.

Lovely portrait. I didn't notice the tag and had to look back at the portrait to see what was meant. I was mesmerised by the fantastic execution of this work. Amazing! Jx
