Very good painting Mark, a lot of difficult issues to tackle. Buildings, water, human figures. To make it sing try to use different tonal variancies on the buildings on the far bank. (Tone is not colour but the intensity/ strength of colour. Edit the picture of the paiting in black and white, you will see that the buildings come of the similar strength of grey tone.
