This is super, Mark. I could never paint without drawing first. Love this. Did you buy a Michael Kors bag or a Rolex watch while you were there? 😀

Thanks Seth...no watches purchased, did have a nice plate of clam linguine and a crodino.

Another challenging subject for plein air work but a very good result.

Wondeerful painting, Mark.

Brilliant Mark. Last time in Pisa I broke my foot on the uneven paving - happy memories!

Wow, that is so good. Couldn't cope myself without drawing out first. I like the idea of the photo too.

Thanks all for your comments. I wasn't that keen on visiting Pisa and wanted to go straight to Lucca, however I rather liked it. Maybe no need to ever go there again, rather like Tuscan baked cod and chick peas :( I am already planning a return to Lucca and the rest of Tuscany.

I felt I was going to fall over the edge at the top because I went up before they had any railings!?

I like how you simplify buildings and figures and such a busy scene.

Painted in my moleskine without using any drawing out.
