Maris Zammit
Biography
I started experimenting and dabbling in watercolours around 1999/2000. I soon started attending lessons at Harry Alden and later at Anton Calleja.... I’ve had two solo exhibitions and have taken part in numerous collective exhibitions. Last year, I participated in another collective exhibition, this time in the UK. Presently, I meet the Wednesday Group regularly in M’Skala, (the same group which used to meet at Anton Calleja), where we are further developing our skills in painting the human figure. Awards I was twice presented with a Special Mention Award at the Museum of Fine Arts, for my contribution, once for an oil painting, a still life, and on another occasion with a watercolour portrait entitled Ir-Ruxxan. I've lately participated in a collective exhibition at Kingston Arts in the UK.
