I find black gesso an excellent ground for flower paintings. I sometimes use a glaze added to this warms or cools the finished work and adds something to the composition. Jim

I have just started painting classes, painting a water lily at the moment if it turns out half as well as this I would be pleased, look forward to seeing more of your work

Beautiful, Marion. I am just dithering about a black background, myself. Only its a watercolour and I am not sure I have the courage!
