Poppy by Marie Stewart

Have to say you have got the eyes just right and watercolour is quite a difficult medium for portraits. Not many portrait artists are really that good because of the eyes. They are normally painted either too flat or pure white dots added onto the eye, exactly as it is in a photograph. (In the early days, I was also guilty of this). You painted Poppy just as the eye is seen in real life, not photographic. You have different shades and shapes reflecting in the eye. So realistic. Perfect.

thank you so much.
