Hi Malcolm...as ever absolutely stunning additions to your gallery today.

Fabulous - would make a marvellous dust-jacket, quite apart from being a great painting in its own right. This technique would never have occurred to me to try - I imagine the turpsy oil would repel the watercolour, leaving this almost bleached effect? You're certainly unafraid of trying different things ...

I do love your watercolours, so much charm, atmosphere and unique style. A treat to the eyes !

What a wonderful portfolio you have garnered together here. Thanks for sharing them all with us, they certainly show you are a master of your watercolours. Full of atmosphere and distinctly your work, Good for you Malcolm

absolutely stunning and portifilo .... would love to know more about the technic with oils thinned with turps on wet paper . jane

This is superb work, your technique gives it that antique look about it, which I really love. Smashing painting.

Classic view of Durham Cathedral from the River Wear. Saunders waterford paper textured with oils thinned with turps on wet paper. Watercolour added when dry. 1/4 imperial as ever
