Lovely composition, Mike, and feeling of open space and sunlight against those deep foreground shadows. Like the use of blue for the foreground tree as well!

Great colour contrasts Mike.

Another of those 'apparently' simple paintings, that aren't simple at all. I like the composition, and that wonderful wash for the sky.

Great composition and love the old fence.

Walk through that gap and I bet the landscape opens up in to a fabulous scene, the way you’ve painted the lane makes you want to explore.

my thanks again, for the kind comments. The sky is 2 washes - Windsor Blue (red) down(second wash) and Aureolin on the up (first wash). Both this , and the previous painting have been made without any drawing - just letting go. Fences are the norm over here on farmland , hedges a rarity.

There is such freedom when there's no pre drawing. Love the colours too.
