Lovely peaceful scene Mike, the gap in the trees leads us though landscape well. I rcently both a cheap 'trial' pack of gouache, been experimenting with them, seem OK.

Beautiful

Like this lovely peaceful scene Mike, especially the light on the water.

I enjoy using gouache , especially on the black substrate where one has immediate contrasts of darkest dark and lightest light - and all tones in between. This is not to say a white substrate doesn't give the same pleasure - it does.
