Hi to all,many thanks for the comments. Yes , the road side flora and fauna are often eye catching. We do not have the same amount of hedgerows as found in the UK , nor yet the wild flower variety- we are mainly with fences and our paddocks tend to be larger and there is a lot of hill country as well.. We do not have the footpath system of the UK so actually getting onto and into the country side is not easy - except in National Park areas and we do have those in abundance. I was fortunate to have access to farm life for some 14 years and was able to see quite a lot of country . In many parts of NZ , the country is not as "smoothed out" as the UK - we have a very young recorded history and settlement by the pakeha - .
