the letter box. NZ has a fair few of these items of character through out its length and breadth - we do not have letter boxes directly set into front doors - they reside at the top of the drive or against the farm gate. Consequently they are often used to express the joy of living of their owners. I have seen them set with Christmas decorations at that time of year.. The advent of the e mail has seen postage dramatically reduced. The stamp prices have increased by 20% and the delivery reduced to a half - hence the title.

And we moan about the postal service here Mike. It's sad that all these things are disappearing and in 20 years time, might not exist at all.

postal deliveries , here in New Zealand, have been cut back to every other day. This is a rural letter box with deliveries made by van. In line and wash.
