Study of the legs and feet

Study of the legs and feet

I think the division between the toes in this study goes rather too far, giving the foot a somewhat prehensile look; toes are actually quite small, the great toe aside - there is, if you'll forgive my saying so, insufficient evidence of the "knuckle" of the foot, which gives the impression that the toes are abnormally long.

Robert has a point here Lyzanne. But I still think this is a lovely piece of pastel work, which gives great form to the legs and feet. Well done.

Yes, I don't disagree with Carole at all - there are some excellent touches in this; I just think that maybe your meticulous studies of the bones and muscles may have misled you slightly as to the way in which they're covered, and function.

Thank you both for your comments, i know what you mean about the lines in between the toes the model did have unusually long toes but a good part of the line is more faded in the original drawing - more indicating a shadow on the foot, the flash from the camera has just made it stand out and contrast a bit more. For this particular one i was focusing more on the leg and knee, more to come of the feet though so i'll have plenty of practice lol.
