Wrapping

Excellently painted. The ribbon is amazing - love the shine on it. The wrapping paper also is very good. The only thing I am not so sure about is the dark box top left. I understand that it gives a strong tonal contrast, but it someone seems a little over-powering. But unusual composition very weel executed.

Thanks for you nice comments. The dark box was a NEXT carrier bag, the picture was originally portrait aspect and showed the whole bag but I didn't like it and chopped off the top half. The cloth was one embroidered by my mother.

I really like this painting - the cloth and the ribbon are excellent. in fact I hadn't even noticed the black box till i read Thea's comment - I thought it was a dark space.. I don't really feel qualified to make much of a comment but probably a slightly more recognizable box would have completed the composition better. Still very pleasing as a whole though and wish i could do something as good.
