Much maligned critters, cows. I spent my early years in a semi-rural community, and watched while the cows galloped over to have their muzzles scratched by an old gentleman - probably a former cow-man - who clearly loved them as they did him. I have to say - we treat cows really pretty badly; and not only cows.

This lovely little lady struck a perfect pose as we passed on our daily dog walk last summer. She’s been providing milk for the wonderful home made ice creams at our local ice cream parlour in Wensleydale. Simply delicious! Unison pastels, Caran D’Ache and Faber-Castell Pitt pastel pencils on pastelmat.
