Lovely painting Louise - quite textured which is good - like the figure a lot. I got some sable brushes last week and to be honest I'm a little bit disappointed with them, they don't spring as much as the advert says lol - back to my squirrel brush.

LOL Joseph, I've just spotted the rather tall figure which I wasn't aware of! He does look rather good though I'm not sure how he got there..!

I like your cityscape Louise. Yes I know what you mean about painting the same thing over and over I do it all the time

Your paintings are always a good advert for Manchester Louise, this agsin has a European flavour to me, although the city is changing all the time, probably for the better.

Thanks Stephen. I'd intended this to be more grey but had to overpaint the sky to cover a mistake at the top of one of the buildings which was too high. Our skies aren't usually this blue as you know! Thank you Carol as well. I've noticed that some artists use the word 'revisited' when painting the same scene. For me, it would be more a case of 'revisited again and again'.

Well I don't get fed up of revisiting your Windmill Street again! It is interesting to see the different ways that you approach the subject Louise! Really nice and yes! I can see the figure too!

You can paint your Windmill Street as many times as you want Louise, it always looks fresh and there is something different and new every time. Here I like the strong blue against the gentle purple of the ground. The phantom figure makes it alive!

Thanks Sarah and Satu. If I'm honest, I suppose I often go back to the same scene because it feels easier the more I paint it. Then I wonder what would happen if I change the colours etc and just have to try it out and see. Now I'm thinking greys, more true to life colours here. Tomorrow hopefully if that 'Thomas street' doesn't crop up yet again..lol

Lovely colours here Louise and the figure is a quirky unexpected addition, he obviously knew something you didn't! Keep 'em coming.

The errant lone figure really introduces a note of mystery into the painting, even although it sounds as if he appeared out of your subconscious - bit spooky that, eh? It is a wonderful cityscape and I can just see you artistically slashing away with your squirrel brushes to achieve those dynamic and loose lines (apparently it is all in the wrist action?). Your work is always full of energy and innovation and this one is no exception.

Another lovely piece, Louise, with a totally different feel! Love the strong palette and the bold washes.

I don't mind another Windmill St Louise, love the different interpretations and swathes of colour.

Thank you Christine, Thea, Seok and Carole!

Bought some lovely Squirrel brushes over the weekend which I couldn't wait to try out. I ask myself though why I feel that I have to paint the same scene over and over?! They'll probably be yet another 'Windmill street'. ..
