Your rocks look fine to me Lorraine and I love the way you've painted the water. Lots of movement and lovely colours.

I can feel the water over the stones. Difficult to do. You have also got warm sunlight and the feeling of the rocks that have been worn away by erosion. The only thing that I would have a look at, and this is only my opinion, the dark rock might look slightly more integrated if you let it be behind the overhanging rock. It looks a little uncomfortable having an adjoining edge. Other than that I think this is very good.

... using the light paint on the overhanging rock to remove the dark line that defines it at the moment; making the dark edge after the highlight on the dark rock disappear. Does that make sense???

Thank you Val and Gudrun for your comments and suggestions.

Oil on canvas. I found some difficulty in painting these rocks. C & C most welcome.
