Brilliant! This must have been a difficult subject with its hugely varied components all needing the correct perspective as well as having to look like the right materials and finishes. You have managed that superbly - I feel I could reach out with spanners or with driving gloves and enjoy it for real!

Beautiful!!! It takes a courage to execute such subject. I like the elegance of background which highlights the pic more..

With great respect an unusual female subject but beautifully handled in detail and with a lady's touch of presentation.

Thank you all for your comments. I've always had an affinity with cars but then I am a Coventry kid and cars and bits of cars were everywhere growing up. When I left school I even wanted to be a car mechanic! I did an engineering course and worked as a quality engineer. Most of my family were engineers even my Mum. My Aunt was a welder, my dad a precision tool maker, my uncle a grinder. I used to drive a car in mud track banger racing. I know I have an odd mix of genres but they 2 things I enjoy painting the most are animals, (especially birds) and vehicles.

'1914 Gregoire' Qtr Imp Moulin du Roi HP watercolour paper Caran D'Ache Luminance and Karismacolour pencils. Here is one from an old WDE ref by Robert Rongier. I ordered a trial pack of papers from the SAA and one of them was Moulin du Roi watercolour paper which proved to be an absolute joy to work on. I used pan pastels to make a soft background so that the car would stand out more.
