Please see note on your sunflower painting.

i saw them in my own portfolios when I looked but not on the front 9 and didn't expect to because I thought..they were for this... It said when I subscribed that I could upload my paintings to my 'OWN GALLERY' as far as I was aware that was what I thought I was doing! Next to the 9 photos it says This 'Take a look at the Leisure Painter painting projects portfolios to see all of the work sent in by readers who have followed the monthly challenges. Send us your version if you complete any of these projects and we will add them to the gallery - the artist setting the challenge will usually offer comments and advice.' As far as i was aware the 9 pictures displayed were to do with this and not my 'OWN GALLERY' That I am told I can have, and thought I was posting into. To save this happening to anyone else i suggest that they clarify!

Apology accepted, thank you for replying , and explaining what happened, don't stop painting or posting your work, one at a time gives people chance to see your work and comment.

Suggest you keep this one here, as it's one of your best (and Gouache is still a minority material for some reason, so it's useful to have it). If I might give you a bit of advice - just take down some of the earlier work, and remove the comments at the same time (if you take the pieces off, the comments will of course go too) and don't worry about reading them: the point has been more than made by now and you've got it - don't knock yourself out by replying to all of them. And then - just start again: I can well imagine this has all got a bit sour for you by now, but this is a useful site for getting your work known - so just bite the bullet, and plough on regardless.

PS - we know the POL site needs a bit of work, as do the site owners: it grew beyond anything they originally imagined, I think, and these problems weren't foreseen.

Thank you Robert for your advice. i will leve this here but remove the now irrelavant comments. The Artist is a popular magazine and I am surprised that they do not have a betterand more clearly designed site. It needsan overhaul. I am deliting almost all of my works and will post some eventually. The trouble is, I do not know the type of work that people like, other than my friends and associates. So it is difficult to know what others think are my better pieces as opposed to the ones I like. I have done some pieces I really didn't like and people have thought it marvellous. This is why I wanted to build up a back catalogue somewhere so that I could get an idea of what people like so that I can concentrate on moving in the right direction. I have limited time and energy levels so need some direction. Up to now I've been just painting what I like, with what I feel like using. I would never have thought I'd enjoy using gouache so much. It is a surprising medium.

I may re-design my potfolio categories, is there any way to move the picture +comments without deleting and re-uploading?

Hi Lin, hope you are keeping well. Gosh you seem to have taken a bit of bashing! Nice to see you on here and your work. Love this still life, lovely composition and colours. There is no way except deleting and re-uploading unfortunately. You can put up to 4 a day so it wont take long to build it back up again.

Just love these beautiful colours, will you put the ballet shoes back on the gallery.

Such rich colours, a feast for the eyes!

Lin, you can delete any comments on paintings that you wish by just editing each posting. Be careful that you don't delete a whole portfolio if that is not what you want to do. Click on the individual portfolios and then open up all the paintings in it and then you can choose which paintings you wish to delete. If you want to re-start your portfolios, you do have to delete and then re-upload and those paintings will appear on the gallery again. However, if you re-upload at no more than 4 in a day, there should be no problem. People do sometimes accidentally delete a portfolio, or a painting, and then have to gradually re-load it. They usually put a little note under to say that is what they are doing. as far as I have seen, this doesn't cause any issues at all. It is just the more than 4 a day that tends to cause a problem.

P.S. If it is any consolation, you are not the first or won't be the last to run into problems over the posting limit recommendations. It has happened so many times before to other people (and usually newcomers to the site) and I think I can honestly say that the vast majority those people went on to load successful galleries and enjoyed lots of positive comments on their work.

Yes - vibrant and colourful - great painting

Thanks i'll have to look out the ballet shoes - When i deleted my works I also deleted the folder I'd put them in to remind me of which i had and hadn't uploaded so I'll have to go through them again. Thanks for the interest though, I'll have a sort through in the week.

i have found the shoes and will upload them to another portfolio.
