And jolly well done too! The engine driver's face says it all - a very happy enthusiast doing a (probably) part-time job he loves - only it isn't really a "job", it's a favourite hobby. Super face, shirt and trousers and the cab & dials are well done too. To produce such a fine result in coloured pencil is commendable. Congratulations Lin.

thank you Michael<br />I struggled to see the inside on the photo I was using as it was dark in the cab. Fortunately I&#39;d taken photos of the insides as well so I had to use a composite of refs plus my memory too.<br />We spent some time chatting to this dude who happily posed for a photo. They have a lot of enthusiastic volunteers and as one of them told me it was like a little boys dream to be an engine driver.

A really well observed portrait. You have a great depth of colour and tonal variation from the coloured pencils - lovely work Lin.

'Driver of the Engine' A4 Winsor &amp; Newton Heavy med grain cartridge Coloured Pencils (Caran D'Ache Pablos) This is the engine driver of the Welsh Guardsman, a vintage steam engine on the Gwili Railway nr Carmathen. We visited this year and I managed to take lots of photographic references to keep me going. Finished Sep 2015
