I’m facing a similar situation Linda, not because of foxes but more because of the tie. I’m down to my last hen (Who is ten years old) after like yourself, breeding modern game for many years.....as well as having the odd few backyard hens. Do you miss them? This fellow is a magnificent example and I like how you have composed him with the moon.

Thank you all so much for such generous comments. Fiona - I really do miss our chickens. Their gentle burblings and constant movement made the garden seem alive but the relentless attention of the foxes finally proved too much to bear.
