I think this is a lovely portrait and I am sure your client will be pleased. I like The soft edges where the image fades away into the background, and I think the tone in the background works well.

My latest commission - this one just seemed to flow - enjoyed the feeling of ' It's done!!!'. Sometimes find it quite hard to walk away knowing that any more work on it could be the 'undoing'!! The only thing I do battle with is whether or not to do a hazy background. I will probably end up asking the client if they would prefer it as is....
