I am painting away here in my studio Lewis and find you have uploaded so had to put down my brushes to have a laugh. Your attention to detail is beautiful. Remember the tin bath in the living room.

Oh yes John, I meant to have a tin bath hanging on the garden wall. The 'grand' old Georgian house I referred to didn't have a bath either...it was tin-baths all round. These memories are 'fond' memories, although my grandchildren think it all a bit archaic.

No indoor toilet and no bathroom! Those were the days eh? A wonderful depiction of the old days thanks for sharing this it gave me a laugh.

bloomin cold in the winter too

As the song goes, 'yes, I remember it well'.

As with my first 'Blast', the idea for this came from talking about how things were when we were young. I'm going to put them in a book sometime (Photobook style). Outside toilets were no big deal back then, they were the 'norm' almost. The older members of my family really did think that the idea of having toilets INSIDE the house was revolting. (Until they got one, of course). Just another difference between then and now. No doubt there are many still in use...and why not?

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
