End of an Era

This is great Roger, i love the wisfulness of this painting, the end of an era is a really good title of course, i wonder how many of these vdub vans are left to get into this type of state bearing in mind how much they are worth when done up! Love the colours and how it is the main centerpiece for your work with everything else in the scene painted in less detail, it is lovely

Hi Roger, really like this, two points, one, I just love painting this type of subject, second, my son at present it renovating a split screen VW at present, a friend of his sold one after reservation for £25K.

I like this alot. So bitter-sweet seeing it overgrown... it tugs at my heart strings! Lovely.

This is really lovely, I wish it came up a bit bigger though so I could get a better look! Has a lovely wistful feel to it, poor old camper van!

Roger Blackwell has sent in the first campervan painting project as set by Ros in the March issue of Leisure Painter saying: 'I chose to use an earlier model of the VW as shown in the photo and to portray in a scene that was not "pretty" but rather untidy. It is sad to see such a shiny and iconic vehicle rusting away in a forgotten corner, but sometimes this eventually happens. Pastel pencils on pastel paper 12" x 8".'
