Alpine Peaks
Sue Dalton sent in this version of the project saying: 'There is a Swiss painter who lives in Montreux who never, ever paints the view from his window of the Alps and lake as he says he can never do justice to its magnificence. Which is probably true but, well, there is no harm in trying to capture something of what one sees every day, so here’s my effort for March. I decided to paint this without Mont Blanc as the crack in the page was a bit off-putting! I limited my colours to French ultramarine, Alizarin crimson, Naples yellow, burnt sienna and burnt umber to try to give more unity to the picture. I eliminated most of the trees. I added two skiers but am not sure how well they come out on the photo'
