Wow, for someone new to watercolours this is really good. I like the fact that the leaves don't overpower the picture as they did in the photo and the peanuts are just hinted at.

Couldn't agree more with Diana, shows very good control of the medium. A very good watercolour.

A beautiful painting - well done.

Thank you very much for your comments!! I'm really encouraged by them. I've been practicing for two weeks now with my first water colour pallet and am loving it!

I agree too. Excellent for a first effort. Have you used other media before starting with water colours? I love the way you have done the nuts. I'm inspired to have a go now myself

Hi Daryl, thanks for your lovely comment, I took up with art for the first time last January. I have dabbled with acrylic and oil, maybe completing about 9 or 10 small paintings in total. I mostly sketch! I can't believe how handy water colour is compared with oil and acrylic when preparing and clearing up afterwards....I'm a bit of a lazy artist!! Good luck with the nuts!!!!

Dear Susie, You have done an incredible painting for a first attempt at watercolours. You have created a very fresh clean painting, Pauline Hill
