A vivid and lively painting. Very expressive.

Excellent picture. So often kingfishers are flat and lifeless and they are fast birds and you have really captured the movement and the life of the bird. great technique.

Very good I like your tecnique:)Linda

You've chosen one of the most difficult birds to capture in paint - like a flashing jewel moving over the water: very brave to attempt it (I would have to be bribed heavily to have a crack at a kingfisher in flight) and - you've brought it off. With this sort of thing, you just have to dive in (a bit like the bird..) and catch it: fiddling with it, correcting it, getting it anatomically exact, would be death. And considering it's your first bird ... ! Very impressive.

This is a first for me, I don't think I have ever painted a bird before. I used a dropper and clear water for the splashes, then I dropped in the blue and white acrylic. Thankyou so much for taking a look 15 by 15ins approx
