You created great atmosphere here - great imagination too!

Lots of movement in this one. Wouldn't like to be on that choppy sea! The sky is very atmospheric, overall a very good painting. Just one point, judging by the size of the waves and the boat I would have made the lighthouse a little larger, but then who am I to criticise, I don't do/can't do landscapes!!

Thanks for your great comments...Your right about the lighthouse not being to scale...In fact if you look nothing is to scale. I tried a few sketches first and found the larger lighthouse or boat tended to overide the composition. The important thing for me was that it should appear small in relation to the surrounding elements...Thanks again Val I always value your opinions, they always make me think and reconsider...All the best.. I painted this some time ago! It was in inspired by reading a short story about a man who renovated a disused lighthouse so that his young, sick wife could live her remaining time by the sea. Sadly, she died shortly after they moved in.
