My grandfather was a shoemaker and made the boots that Scott died in. He often told me how he watched on the dockside as the Terra Nova was towed out of Cardiff bay to begin that fatefull trip. The lead tug was "The Falcon", and the ship was filled with the best Welsh coal..Donated by the people of Wales.

What a great story and a wonderful painting. I admire the way you have depicted the ships in fine detail and left the background buildings more muted. The water is very good as well. Another of your lovely works.

Lovely sky and ships, in fact all very good as Thea states. I love the story too.

P.S. Happy New Year Steven.. Carole.

Yes, what a great story and wonderful painting! We are preparing events commemorating the race to the South Pole between Scott and Amundsen with a spectacular stage play, exhibition and school projects. Do you like to join us in Berlin, Germany?
