Super. Is the white achieved by the use of a dry brush?

Thanks Seth. No, I rubbed on candle wax after I painted a rough sketch. That’s the sequences effect on the dress, forearms, hair and other bits. It’s good fun. That’s true, unlike my story. I wasn’t really a professional dancer.

I thought there was a little artistic licence in the description, but will hang on to the thought that you might have been a revolutionary. The pose is spot on, the style catches the motion of the dance...which in a way is revolutionary.

Thanks Tony. I imagine I’m a revolutionary. Others say I’m revolting.

I love your tongue in cheek descriptions, Michael. This painting has beautiful movement and I love the bold colours.

Thanks Ellen. My tounge in cheek is revolutionary. I’m an inverted snob. Or so I like to believe. So, I’m revolting against art snobbery, and there’s lots about. I love not taking the appropriate things not seriously. Art, for me, can be one most of the time. Let’s have some fun.

I mean I love not taking the appropriate things seriously.

Hey!!! Don't spoil the illusion...I'm a sucker, i believe anything I'm told! This is great Michael! Love the white bits, I think candle wax can appear more natural than the dreaded masking fluid! This has so much movement and joi de vivre. Love it

Lovely painting and I love the story Michael, I think I would have held the truth back a bit longer. Wholeheartedly agree with having fun.

Thanks Thalia and Barry. I’ll hold on a bit longer in future. The only thing with candle wax is tha when it’s on it stays on. You get less control but some happy accidents.

good work, colours, and movements, Michael.

Superb modern painting look great in a modern setting.

Ah ah, thought that was you in Evita !!!!

What a great pose Michael. I love what you said about art snobbery, I'm definitely with you on that. I do things my way and don't care if it's the wrong way. Art is about enjoyment.

Thanks Cesare, Gudrun, Dennis, Linda and Margaret. Stay free as a bird Margaret. I’m flying alongside you.

Well there’s a revelation Mr Revolutionary....like the pic to.

Thanks Sylvia. If you want a Welsh revolution anywhere just give me a ring.

I really love the effects here Michael very well done. By the way I believe everything you say 🤗🤗

I don't believe a word of it but what a marvelous watercolour Michael!

Watercolour study. From an old distorted photo of me in Cuba after I’d taken part in the revolution and became a professional dancer for a short time.
