Love this - it makes me want to shout Whey haaaaay!!

This is great, you have captured the speed of the hare, blink and he's gone!

A hare in a hurry - brown envelopes do provide a great surface to paint on; not sure how permanent they are, suspect not at all; but if only paper manufacturers would produce a material which had that warmth and sympathetic surface, AND could be relied upon to last, they'd have it made. One of my best portraits - which I've lost - was in gouache on brown paper.... just an ordinary brown paper bag that, once upon a time, you could get from any local grocer.

Thank you for your comments :o) Robert, I'm a compulsive doodler. My bag is full of receipts and scraps of paper with hastily scribbled ideas on the back. I love working on brown paper. I can't see an artwork having the same impact if it was painted on a Tesco carrier bag.

My art teacher likes to use alternative materials. This was a quick sketch using pastels on the inside face of a brown envelope. (NB: The image is very soft/ hazy; it's not just bad photography!)
