Relaxing windsurfer by Kal Johnson

I really like the figure - he is soo relaxed and very well painted. Somewhow the buildings at the back didn't seem to interest you much, At the moment I have only got the front half of the painting on my small netbook and it looks great. What does everybody else think?

Hi, thanks for your comment, because there is so much going on in the picture, i deliberately left the background to fade out a bit

I think the surfer is so good, he could do well as a picture on his own and leave out all the background completely. Put him and the sails on grass by a beach or on a sand dune with just sea and sand. I like the way you have faded out the buildings. The only thing I think is superfluous is the dog. It looks a bit like an afterthought.

I agree about the dog, i did indeed "get rid" of him, (not at the vet's) but i can''t find the file without him in it, the dog got run over, so it could be a tribute to him!

Lots of interest in this painting. Agree with other comments that the surfer could stand alone in a painting with any background. However, it makes for a painting with lots to look at. Well done.
