I was trained on typewriters like that - they were quite an aid to the creative process which you illustrate, because, like a pen, they came between writer and paper, breaking up the easy flow of thought which, on a word processor, can flow too glibly and wordily. As I've probably just proved.

I like the aerial viewpoint (and Robert's comments!)

Lovely painting and i love the Ghost Writer concept. I too trained to type on a manual typeweiter, and often wonder how much tipex I would use to write a letter on one these days. I do love this painting.

A well painted and thought out composition

I agree with everyone, lovely work

The composition absolutely caught my eye. Extremely clever and well executed.

“Ghost Writer” evokes the quiet presence of creativity in absence. A vintage typewriter sits untouched, surrounded by the textures of a lived-in workspace—wood, fabric, and light. Through colour pencil detail and nostalgic composition, the piece explores themes of memory, authorship, and the unseen forces that shape our stories. It is a tribute to the enduring spirit of inspiration that lingers long after the writer has gone.
