Lovely image, captures the colours and atmosphere wonderfully. The West of Ireland has changed a lot in recent years. Lots of swanky houses and holiday homes, but when you step behind the obvious holiday places there are still lovely old spots like this and the people who keep up some of the old Irish traditions of hospitality and warmth. It is my favourite place in the world to visit for that reason and I enjoyed this lovely reminder. I hope you get the chance to revisit your old haunts,, they are likely to be even more beautiful than you remember.

Thank you both for your comments.I lived for 10 years near Dublin and spent some great holidays in the West of Ireland.Hoping to revisit one day !

Many years ago I lived in Ireland so now and again I use my Irish sketches as an antidote to my local scenery. This painting was done in the dark winter evenings about 4 weeks ago.
