Lone Dales Tree - sketch

Lone Dales Tree - sketch

You are very lucky John. The Dales are spectacular and the trees are bent into unusual shape because of the strong winds. Sometimes you wonder how they survive the harsh conditions . That tree has grown where you would think it would be an impossibility and you have conveyed the atmosphere of the Dales very well.

I think this works a treat ! And the subject is an eye-catcher!

You have to admire those brave trees growing in such a harsh environment and you have captured this so well.

Realy strong wings))

A nice depiction of a typical Dales/Lakes scene. lovely tones.

I would say that this is very successful John - looks a treat.

I'm a great supporter of the 'slosh it on ' method John, I use it myself only not as tidy as yours! Full of vitality.

Superb subject and just right, colours, shape, wind effect

This is outstanding John.

Certainly looks windswept. It's a super sketch John.

Yes, I think this has worked. It sums up the scene beautifully.

I love this composition John - what a great angle that tree is at.

Sketch of an interesting Yorkshire Dales tree using the "slosh it on" technique, not sure how successful it was - but oh what a pleasure it is to have the Dales on the doorstep as a subject
