Mt Kosciuszko snow gums by Jennifer Leslie
An acrylic on a canvas panel of Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales, Australia snow gums, characterized by their twisted shapes, colourful and peeling bark, and resilience at the alpine treeline. I just had to paint the many colours depicted when their bark is peeling off at different stages. These ancient trees are sculpted by harsh winds, snow, and ice, and are protected by boardwalks for visitors, such as the one near Charlotte Pass.
