As I looked at it, I thought otherworldly which fits with your Tolkienesque, which it is. Very effective and I know how it can seem unreal up in these kind of mountains - your are in the landscape, but not of it, only tolerated for a visit ... maybe. Great atmosphere.

breathtakingly wonderful

A stunning landscape painted brilliantly Gillian.

How did I miss this? Fantastic painting, and from what I remember of the countryside out there, Tolkienesque it is; especially when the sun's shining, or conversely the clouds are rolling off the hills.

Agree with above and i particularly love the way you have painted the different tree types, clearly showing the differences in them and not just painting them as green blobs, these works must each take you quite some time

30'' x 24'' on canvas covered board. This is a bit different for me, but the bluebells were so abundant this year I had to have a go. Seems a little Tolkienesque but then I often think that the landscape here is 'unreal'.
