Walled garden

You could be right about the trees above the wall but I think the garden lends itself well to that sort of treatment. Maybe just soften the view through the doorway to leave people wondering what's there. Anyway what's wrong with detail? Have you seen Melissa Scott Miller's work? If not google her. Just because many people do loose watercolours in a few minutes doesn't mean that's the only way there is. Break the bounds of convention and do your own thing. I like this.

I agree with Diana. This is lovely and the foreground treatment of the foliage makes it. Well done. Reminds me of my own watercolour of a cottage in France (on gallery) I think yours is nicer, actually!
