Winter in the park

Hi Jenny I like this painting...love the way you have captured the warm sun glow on the distant hill against the coolness of the forground shadow. Maybe add a couple of figures in the distance as the focal point rather than the sign to add a touch of life to the work....you'd be surprised how that makes a difference to all artwork. Never be afraid to really darken the foregound shadow as this will enhance the sunshine effect even more, and add some darks to the ruts in the road that shows the earth beneath adding even more interest to the foreground. Great .. very chilly!!

I love the contrasts in this - the delicately indicated warmth of the sun against the chill blues; brilliant.
