Think you probably did succeed = any chance of taking a photograph of this straight on, minus the frame, or at least with less of it? I'm not getting much of the detail on the right hand side of the painting, it's showing up as a black triangle - and my varifocals are struggling with it!

sorry robert the picture is with my niece now and she lives up in the highlands if it is any help the triangle was all in deep shade so come up on the photo as black so i just painted that bit in a mix of mars and lamp black if thre is any way i can show the original photo i would but dont know if it allowed thank you for the kind comment by the way it will keep me inspired .
