This is really beautiful, Jean. You captured the shape and the colours very well. I love the fact that there is no background. This accentuates the lovely shape even more!

Thankyou Mia, I normally paint background along with the subject but felt this should stand on its own

Wonderful work - nicely painted to show the wilting petals and fading leaves.

Some flowers are the most beautiful just before they 'die', as you show us here!

The inspiration or this painting came from a photograph of a dying blue anenome, one of my favourite flowers, in a magazine by a french photographer, Rachel Levy. I just loved the layers of colours and tried to capture them.
