Have you refreshed this one - it looks lighter than the previous version. Or did you take another picture of it?

Thanks for pointing this out Linda, yes it's a different photograph. I'm afraid I am finding that on-line galleries, because we are looking at photographs rather than the original, struggle to give a true representation of the painting. Perhaps I should take more care with my photography. Joe

As a lover of opera and a retired opera singer, I love to try to capture moments from the genre. in Leoncavallo's "I Pagliacci" (The Clowns), the broken hearted Canio has to go on stage and mke his audience laugh. I have tried to capture the character about to make his entrance on to a stage upon the stage. Or is it just a singing actor plying his trade?
